Top-It (1972) – Classic Marble Skill Game
Top-It is a classic tabletop skill game where players take turns launching marbles onto a raised playing platform, aiming to land them in the highest scoring pockets. Simple to learn but tricky to master, the game is all about control, timing, and a steady hand.
Designed for 2 to 4 players, each player uses marbles of the same colour and takes turns shooting them up the board. Once a marble lands in a scoring pocket, it stays there until the end of the game, adding to the player’s total score. Marbles that miss or fall off the platform are removed from play, so every shot matters.
How to Play
Players take turns placing a marble into one of the shooting slots and launching it onto the playing platform using the lever. The aim is to land the marble in the highest scoring pocket possible. If the marble doesn’t land in a pocket, the player keeps shooting until it does, or until the marble leaves the platform.
Some turns allow players to knock other marbles into different pockets, adding a layer of interaction and strategy. Once all marbles are either resting in scoring pockets or out of play, scores are totalled.
Winning the Game
At the end of the game, each player adds up the points from the pockets holding their marbles. The player with the highest total score wins.
