The Alley Cats (1979) – A Fun Cat-and-Dog Chase Board Game

The Alley Cats (1979) – A Fun Cat-and-Dog Chase Board Game

It’s supper time in the alley and all the cats are out on their nightly prowl. With fish skeletons to be found, the cats must cross the wall and sneak into dustbins to grab their prize. But beware — hiding under some of those lids are mean old bulldogs, ready to chase you all the way back home! This light-hearted and competitive retro game is perfect for players who enjoy a mix of luck, strategy, and cheeky fun.

How to Play
Each player controls a cat, aiming to be the first to collect five fish skeletons and return them safely home. On your turn, roll the dice and move along the alleys, across the wall, and towards the dustbins. Open the lids to reveal fish — or a bulldog! If a dog is hiding there, the chase is on, and you’ll need to outrun it to safety. Cats can also steal fish from other cats if they land on the same space, making the game even more unpredictable. Dogs, meanwhile, will hunt down the cat that disturbed them, adding an exciting twist to every round.
