Switch 16 (2001) – A Fast-Paced Dice Game of Risk and Progress

Switch 16 (2001) is a fast-paced dice game that’s all about luck, risk and clever combinations. Each player is racing to be the first to discard all 16 of their numbered cards in order – but it’s not as easy as it sounds. With every roll of the dice, you’re hoping to match the number on your top card. Sometimes you’ll roll just what you need. Other times you’ll need to get creative and combine dice or take a risk to push ahead. But be careful – if you fail, you could find yourself sent all the way back to the start. Designed for 2 to 4 players and best for ages 7+, it’s a brilliant mix of excitement, tension and chance that the whole family can enjoy.

How to play:
Each player gets a set of 16 cards, numbered from 1 to 16, and places them in order with 1 on top. On your turn, you roll three numbered dice and one special ‘Switch Die’. If you can match the number on your top card using one die or a combination, you discard that card. Keep going as long as you keep matching, but if you can’t, your turn ends. You can also take a risk and roll again – but if you fail, you might have to send cards back to the start. The number of dice you roll increases as you progress through the deck, so things get more intense the further you go. The first player to discard all 16 cards wins the game.

Why rent this game:
Switch 16 is the kind of game you’ll want to play again and again. It’s simple to learn but full of nail-biting decisions, especially when you’re deciding whether to play it safe or roll again. It’s a great choice for family game nights or casual evenings when you want something quick, fun and full of laughs. If you enjoy fast games with a touch of luck and a dash of daring, this one’s a winner.
