Snakes in the Grass (1969) – A Suspense-Filled Action Game of Skill and Speed
Snakes in the Grass is a proper old-school action game from 1969, full of excitement, competition, and a bit of chaos! Each player controls a snake with one job – scoop up as many eggs as you can and get them safely into your egg nest before the others beat you to it.
It’s fast, it’s frantic, and it’s a great laugh. Perfect for 2 to 4 players of all ages, and one of those games where things can go from calm to chaotic in seconds.
How to Play:
Place the snake eggs in the centre of the board (the “grass”).
When the round starts, players race to pick up eggs with their snake’s tongue and place them into their own egg holders.
Watch out – if you knock someone else’s egg out of their holder, it goes back into the grass!
The round ends when one player fills their nest with 5 eggs – they shout “Snakes!” to stop the game.
Points are scored each round, and the first player to win 6 rounds is the overall winner.
Why Rent This Game:
