Slam (1967) – Fast-Paced Vintage Reaction Game
Slam (1967) is a fast, frantic and brilliantly simple reaction game where timing is everything. One player becomes the “Pan Man” and waits for the right moment to slam the pan down and catch as many mice as possible. Everyone else is gripping their mouse tails, ready to pull them away before they’re caught. It’s loud, it’s competitive and it’s full of split-second decisions that turn into big laughs.
How to Play
Each player takes a mouse and places it on the mat, holding firmly onto its tail. One player becomes the Pan Man and rolls the two dice where everyone can see them. When a seven or eleven appears, the Pan Man quickly slams the pan down onto the mat, trying to trap as many mice as possible. The other players must react instantly and pull their mice to safety before they’re caught. Points are scored for captured mice and for successful escapes. After the Pan Man has rolled seven or eleven three times, the pan passes to the next player and the chaos continues. The first player to reach 50 points, or the player with the highest score after everyone has had a turn, wins.
