Scruples (1986) – The Classic Game of Moral Dilemmas
Scruples is a bold, revealing party game all about making decisions—and judging each other for them. Each round, someone presents a real-life dilemma, and it’s your job to guess how the person they ask will respond. Will they say yes, no, or does it depend? Whether you answer honestly or strategically is up to you. The first to get rid of all their dilemma cards wins—but not without getting challenged along the way.
How to Play
Each player gets a hand of dilemma cards and one secret answer card. On your turn, you become the “Asking Player” and pick a dilemma to ask someone else. Before you do, think carefully—can you predict how they’ll answer?
You reveal your answer card and hope it matches their reply. If it does, discard the dilemma. If it doesn’t, you’ll have to draw another. Others can challenge answers if they think someone’s bluffing, and a quick vote decides who’s convincing and who’s not.
The game gets interesting fast, especially when answers aren’t what people expect. You’ll hear plenty of “You’d really do that?!” moments—and that’s exactly the fun.
Why Rent Scruples?
Scruples is perfect for groups who love honest chats, cheeky guesses, and the occasional heated debate. It’s a game that’s not just about winning—it’s about understanding your friends, partners, and family a little better (whether you want to or not!). It plays beautifully with 4 to 10 people and is ideal for dinner parties, late-night chats, or just having a laugh at each other’s moral compass.
