Picasso (1990) – Can You Turn Words into Art or Guess a Title from a Doodle
Picasso is such a good one for getting people giggling. Released in 1990 by Waddingtons, this game is all about drawing, guessing, and having a laugh at some seriously questionable artwork. It’s made for 3 to 6 players and works best with adults who are up for being a bit silly.
Each player gets a random title – it could be a phrase, a song, something simple or something totally ridiculous. The challenge? You’ve got to draw it. But you can’t write any words or give it away too easily – it’s got to be a proper doodle that others have to guess. Once someone finishes drawing, everyone stops and the guessing begins. You’ll try and give each drawing a title and also figure out who drew what. It’s fun, it’s light-hearted, and it doesn’t matter if you’re good at drawing – in fact, the funnier and more wonky the picture, the better.
This one’s brilliant for breaking the ice or just getting everyone round the table doing something together. Whether you’re playing with mates or family, it’s one of those games that gets everyone involved and keeps the atmosphere full of laughs.
How to Play
Each player picks a card and secretly reads their title, then tries to draw it on a piece of paper without giving too much away. When someone finishes, they shout “Stop!” and everyone has to stop drawing too. Then the pictures are passed around, and everyone writes down what they think each picture is called. You score points for guessing others’ titles correctly, and for having your own artwork guessed. First one to the end of the board wins!
Why Rent Picasso?
It’s not about being good at drawing – it’s about getting involved, laughing at your own masterpieces, and seeing how your friends and family interpret the madness. Picasso is perfect for game nights where you want to keep things light and fun, but still competitive enough to get everyone thinking. Plus, with over 850 possible titles, it never plays the same way twice.
