Curly Caterpillars (1989) – A Colourful Game of Collecting and Stealing!

Curly Caterpillars (1989) – A Colourful Game of Collecting and Stealing!

In Curly Caterpillars (1989), the aim is simple: make the longest, twistiest, and most colourful caterpillar you can before the bag runs out of pieces! You’ll take turns pulling out moon-shaped body segments and building your own caterpillar — but it’s not just about luck. You can steal matching segments from other players if the colours line up just right. It’s sneaky, satisfying, and a little bit strategic, all rolled into one cheerful game.

How to Play

Each player starts with a caterpillar head in front of them. On your turn, you’ll dip your hand into the cloth bag and pull out two colourful body pieces. On your first go, you place these next to your caterpillar’s head. From then on, you keep adding to make it longer. But the real fun comes with the chance to steal — if you spot a matching colour pair in the right order on someone else's caterpillar, you get to take those and add them to yours!

The game ends when all the pieces are gone from the bag and everyone has had a final go at capturing. The player with the longest caterpillar wins.
