Carol Vorderman’s Sudoku (2005) – The Classic Number Puzzle Turned Board Game
This board game brings the famous number puzzle to life, turning Sudoku into a fun and competitive experience you can share with friends and family. Inspired by Carol Vorderman’s love of logic and her popular Sudoku books, this version adds a tactile twist with numbered disks, timers, and easy or medium difficulty setups to suit every player.
Playing is simple to understand but addictive once you start. Each player takes turns placing their coloured number disks on the grid, racing against the timer to fill in the correct numbers before their opponent. You’ll need logic, speed, and a bit of nerve — because if your opponent thinks you’ve got a number wrong, they can lift it off the board and replace it with their own.
How to Play
Set up the game by choosing one of the 100 puzzle cards, each showing a Sudoku grid with missing numbers. Place the starter numbers on the board using the green disks, then take turns filling in the blanks. You’ll have just one or two minutes to decide where to place your coloured number disks — red or blue — as you try to complete the puzzle.
If a player believes another has made a mistake, they can challenge by replacing that number with what they think is right. There’s also a clever “bonus number” feature, where players can use the red filter to reveal hidden numbers if the game gets tough. Each correct placement earns points, but wrong ones lose them, keeping every round exciting until the final total is revealed.
